Section 11 is dedicated to 20th century photography,
something that will undoubtedly catch your eye . Early Japanese photographers
were fascinated by ukiyo painting , both in terms of the choice of subjects and
the framing and coloring after printing. Specialized painters hand-colored the
photographs to imitate the popular and polychrome prints of the artists who worked
with woodcut techniques. In this way, photography became one of the main means
by which the new Japan would be fixed in eternity.
